Private Grants and Scholarships for Arizona Women
- Arizona Promise Programs: ASU, University of Arizona, and NAU each have Promise programs that guarantee to meet full demonstrated financial need for qualifying Arizona residents. Ask your university's financial aid office about their specific program by name.
- Arizona@Work: Arizona distributes WIOA training funds through the Arizona@Work network. Contact your local Arizona@Work office at arizonaatwork.com to learn about free job training in healthcare, IT, construction, and other high-demand fields.
- Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF): While not Arizona-specific, HSF awards thousands of scholarships annually to Hispanic students nationwide. Arizona has a large Hispanic population and many Arizona women qualify. Apply at HSF.net.
- Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award: For women who are the primary financial supporters of their household. $1,000 to $10,000. Apply at Soroptimist.org.
- Jeannette Rankin Foundation: For women 35 and older with financial need. Apply at Rankinfoundation.org.
- Local community foundation: Search "Arizona community foundation scholarship" for awards specific to your county.
Workforce Training in Arizona
Arizona does not have a universal free community college program, but Maricopa County Community College District has very low tuition rates and financial aid programs that make college extremely affordable. Arizona@Work distributes WIOA training funds for career-focused programs statewide.
Contact your local Arizona workforce office and ask about WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) training funds. WIOA can pay for tuition, books, childcare, and transportation for programs in high-demand fields like healthcare, IT, and skilled trades.
