Where to Start

Start with the FAFSA. That one form unlocks grants 1 through 12 automatically. Then spend a few weekends applying for private grants. Even two of them can cover books and fees for an entire year.

If you are unemployed or underemployed, also call your local American Job Center about WIOA. It can cover childcare, transportation, and tools that college grants do not touch.
